Why is it that many Muslims do not respect Jesus? I am a Christian and I do not say anything horrible about Muhammad, so why should a Muslim about Jesus?
We are very surprised by what you mentioned about Muslims’ disrespect for Jesus, peace be upon him. Jesus, peace be upon him, is mentioned in the Holy Qur’an sixteen times, every time with respect and honour. You can refer to the Holy Qur’an and find that out with more depth. Here we mention one of those verses, in which God Almighty said: "And verily We gave unto Moses the Scripture and We caused a train of messengers to follow after him, and We gave unto Jesus, son of Mary, clear proofs..." (Qur’an, 2:87).
The Holy Qur’an speaks of the prophets with great respect and reverence, as it considers them to be purified from any imperfection. The Holy Qur’an pays more respect and gives greater sanctity to the prophets than the Bible does. You can study both books in an objective manner to see this truth clearly.
You can also notice that Muslims do not mention the name of Jesus without saying “peace be upon him”, which is a phrase they do not say but for those who are loyal to God.
This is the speech of Hazrat Isa (as). In Islam we say that he did not die based on the statement of the Quran but how should we understand this sentance from the ayah: "but when Thou didst cause me to die"? Does it mean that he die afterall or what?
In Surah Al-Nisa, verses 156-157, it says: "Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah. And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain. Rather, Allah raised him to Himself. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise." Do these verses say that Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) wasn't killed but is he considered dead? What does it mean that he was raised to Allah?
There is no doubt that prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) did not die in the way death comes to people, by the soul leaving the body. What is apparent in this verse is that he was raised with his body to the heavens.
