Fourty Days

Question :

Ziyarat-e-Ashura is recommended to be recited for 40 days continuously. My question is: can a woman recite the Ziyara during her menstruation? At the end of the Ziyara, there is one prostration. If a woman does choose to recite the Ziyara during her menstruation, what does she have to do when she has to prostrate?

Answer :

The mentioned Ziyara is recommended every day. Yes, it is understood by believers that reciting it continuously for forty days is the cause for the acceptance of their supplications to God. The woman in her menstrual period can recite the Ziyara and prostrate, but cannot offer the two-rak’as prayer.

Ziyarat-e-Ashura

Can I listen to or recite the Ziyarat-e-Ashura while unclean or wearing unclean clothes, or do I have to do Wudhu and ensure my body and clothes are tahir?

Yes, you can do the mentioned without tahara.

Yawm al-Warood

Does ‘Yawm al-Warood’ that is mentioned in Ziyarat-e-Ashura mean the first day in the grave or the Day of Judgment?

It appears that the term ‘Yawm al-Warood’ refers to the Day of Judgment.

The supplication of Alqama is not part of Ziyarat-e-Ashura. It is one of the recommendations that one can recite after the Ziyara.

Can we recite Ziyarat-e-Ashura while going to sleep or while laying down when going to sleep without wudhu?
